Our website address is: https://www.moesatlas.com.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Contact forms
When you send us an email, the only data that is retained is your name or alias, and your email address. This information is kept for only one year and is not used for marketing purposes, but only to comment back to your comment to us.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
We are using cookies to give you the best experience on our website.
You can find out more about which cookies we are using or switch them off by clicking on the green ‘gear’ button on the homepage.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
We use Google Analytics to gather non-personal data about where traffic to our website is coming from. This helps us to understand which articles are being read by viewers and to understand the viewer experience. This information shows us generally which city and country views are coming from, which pages are viewed and how you navigate around the site. There is no recognisable personal data and this generic data is kept for a period of 14 months. For more information you can review Google Analytics’ privacy policy.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
Your contact information
If you have privacy-specific concerns, please contact us at moesatlas (at) gmail (dot) com and we will be happy to address any privacy concerns you have.
Additional information
How we protect your data
Through this website’s hosting company, this website is protected by an SSL certificate (Secure Sockets Layer), which establishes an encrypted connection between you and this website. This certificate verifies that my hosting company has authenticated this website’s identity. With this certificate, your browser now trusts this website’s identity, too. The browser lets the user know that this website is secure, and you can feel safe browsing the site and even entering confidential information.
What third parties we receive data from
We allow third-party companies to serve ads and/or collect certain anonymous information when you visit our website. These companies may use personally unidentifiable information (e.g., click stream information, IP address, browser type, time and date, the subject of advertisements clicked or scrolled over) during your visits to this and other sites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services likely to be of interest to you. These companies typically use a cookie or third party web beacon to collect this information. We work with Google Adsense, Amazon, Awin, VigLink, GetYourGuide, CJ and Citytours.
These third-party ad servers or ad networks automatically receive your IP address, and may use cookies, Web Beacons or JavaScript to measure the effectiveness of their advertising or to personalize the content they provide you.
MoesAtlas has no control or access over cookies used by third-party advertisers.
Please review the individual privacy policies of each third-party ad server for more information on their policies as well as how to opt-out of certain lists, should you require.
In order to disable cookies, go through your individual browser options. There you’ll find detailed information about how to manage or disable cookies found on various websites.
For further information about this privacy policy, which is subject to change without notice, please contact us.
What automated decision making and/or profiling we do with user data
None!
Plugin: Smush
Note: Smush does not interact with end users on your website. The only input option Smush has is to a newsletter subscription for site admins only. If you would like to notify your users of this in your privacy policy, you can use the information below.
Smush sends images to the WPMU DEV servers to optimize them for web use. This includes the transfer of EXIF data. The EXIF data will either be stripped or returned as it is. It is not stored on the WPMU DEV servers.
Smush uses the Stackpath Content Delivery Network (CDN). Stackpath may store web log information of site visitors, including IPs, UA, referrer, Location and ISP info of site visitors for 7 days. Files and images served by the CDN may be stored and served from countries other than your own. Stackpath’s privacy policy can be found here.
Smush uses a third-party email service (Drip) to send informational emails to the site administrator. The administrator’s email address is sent to Drip and a cookie is set by the service. Only administrator information is collected by Drip.
